The iOS version of the menetrendek.hu website functions as an online comprehensive search tool for intercity buses, trains, and boats operating within Hungary. It also serves as the official search application for the Volán companies. The application provides access to over 20,000 stops across Volán, MÁV, and Bahart services, facilitating searches between all settlements within the country.

The software is capable of searching routes and connections between stops and towns. The input field accepts full or partial matches, returning relevant results—for example, entering "bp st" retrieves "Budapest, Stadion autóbusz-pályaudvar." Furthermore, the app can generate departure or arrival timetables for specific stops by filling out just one input field and executing a search.

Utilizing the built-in GPS functionality of the device, the software can determine the user's current departure stop. When searching for stops, tapping the position marker that appears in the input field prompts the app to locate the nearest stop within a 1500-meter radius. Users can also set a desired time interval in the settings, with options to display schedules from a specified date forward.

The results list, aligned with the web version, is customizable via "BEÁLLÍTÁSOK" (Settings). Users can sort search results based on departure or arrival times, travel duration, ticket prices (currently only for Volán services), or transfer counts. It's possible to specify transfer durations and maximum walking distances to refine results further.

The most recent 20 searches are automatically saved and accessible through the "ELŐZMÉNYEK" (History) menu. These can be viewed offline as part of the history or refreshed when an internet connection is available. The history entries can also be deleted selectively. Additionally, the app allows users to search schedules for any day of the week to incorporate both weekday and weekend timetables into one view.

From the list of results or individual departure schedules, selecting a specific route reveals a map by pressing the map icon in detailed information view. When activated, this map displays the departure and arrival stops along with the route taken. Tapping a stop name marker provides detailed stop information. If location services are enabled, your phone's GPS position is shown on the map as well.

This application is designed for travelers using trains or buses who may not always have access to a computer nearby to verify schedules. It offers a quick, straightforward way to access travel information efficiently and with minimal data usage.
